My name is Kathleen, but everyone has always called me Katie.
My interest in massage therapy began when I became the front desk receptionist at Le Meridian Day Spa in Orange County, CA in 2004. I saw people enter the spa to receive massage services looking depleted, stressed, and in pain. It was as if some miracle occurred during their massage session in which they left the spa looking like a different person; refreshed, renewed, and rejuvenated.
I became instantly curious about this seemingly magical treatment and decided to try a 50-minute Swedish massage. At first, like everyone, I was shy, embarrassed, nervous, and unsure of what to expect. My massage therapist quickly put my apprehension at ease and I floated off into a peaceful state of relaxation. I absolutely enjoyed the calming, relaxing results of the Swedish massage and next decided to try the more sought after Deep Tissue Massage. While I had to do a little bit more communicating with the massage therapist to ensure the correct pressure, I left the massage table feeling like melted butter. That was the moment I realized I wanted to be a massage therapist.
I attended massage school at the United Education Institute in Ontario, California where I completed 720 hours of hands-on massaging and graduated with my massage certificate in 2010. I became nationally certified with NCBTMB in 2011. I have my California State certification and am insured through AMTA. I have worked at Stine Chiropractic in Victorville, at Burke Williams Day Spa in Orange, and at Glen Ivy Hot Springs in Corona, CA.
I have my own massage table and am able to do mobile massage in the comfort and privacy of my clients' homes. I will only provide mobile massage to clients whom I feel safe and comfortable working with. I reserve the right to refuse business to anyone and will stop service if I feel there is any threat to my safety or well-being. I am a professional massage therapist and anything inappropriate will not be tolerated. I will happily travel to hospitals, nursing homes, and offices.
I am trained in Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Pregnancy Massage, Myofascial Release, Hot Stone Massage, Reflexology, and Shiatsu. I ultimately strive to give customized massages in which I combine a little of every modality to create the perfect massage to treat each clients' needs.
I have always held the strong desire to help people and relieve them of their suffering. It is such a blessing and a joy to be in a career where I am able to do just that every day. I love what I do and am truly proud and grateful to be a Massage Therapist.
